mags85xxmmxx
Hi, can anyone please resolve a dispute, do you have to be a French national to claim RMI ? or can you claim because you are a EEC member who actively seeking employment and not entitled to any other benefit ?. Teamedup
But french nationals cannot just claim this. There are conditions which are all marked on the web sites about it.

Miki
No it is not true, Brits can claim it but whether one will be be legible, will depend on your time of stay here and your personal circumstances.
Teamedup
You are assuming that all french people can 'just' claim this, they cannot. It is all there on the web sites.
Agenais
I have recently helped a friend complete the RMI forms. The forms are quite simple and self explanatory, they cater for French Nationals, nationals of all EEC member states and also immigrants from outside of the EEC. It was the mayors secretary and the CPAM who advised them to apply, also to complte the CMU forms. You need to send in either your titre de sejour or passport, proof of none income for the last three months, details of spouse or conjoint, number of kids etc. Wether they will be elligible for it we wait and see, cannot see any reason why not, a genuine lack of money is a great worry. It is a difficult decision to make, feeling like scroungers from the state, be it here or in any other EU country, but, needs must.
