Mutiara
Can anyone tell me in simple terms how to post a photo in a message. I do realise it has to be online with photobucket or similar but what I don't understand is the forum instructions that say the following;" When posting/replying, switch to the HTML view. Add the unique link they gave you using this code: <img src="http://www.example-website.com/directory/picture.jpg">Then switch back to the Design view and your picture should be visible."I can't see how to switch to the HTML view when posting a message. What part of the above code do I use ? In fact I am surprised that there is not a FAQ simple explanantion on how to do this? Any help please? Clair
[quote]Can anyone tell me in simple terms how to post a photo in a message.[...] I am surprised that there is not a FAQ simple explanantion on how to do this?[/quote]There is. It is here: How to post a photographIt says To put a photograph into your post:The photograph must be on your computer. The format should be .jpg Re-size your photograph(s) to a maximum width of 400 pixels. This ensures that they fit the forum browser window properly. Open a free account at Photobucket. Browse from Photobucket to your photo and choose it. Upload to Photobucket. When the photograph has uploaded it will appear in your album. Underneath there are three addresses. Highlight and copy the one marked Img - make sure you havecopied the whole address. There should be IMG and /IMG in square brackets at the beginning and end of the address. Paste the address into the appropriate place in your post, and the picture should appear. You can get a false representation if you simply put in a photoaddress without the IMG tags, as your computer finds the photo in itsown innards, whereas other viewers don't have access to that.Courtesy Dick Smith and Bugbear
Mutiara
Thank you Claire, The image below is from a photobucket account so that seems to have worked! However I tend to use Picassa2 for my photo albums and there doesn't seem to be an image [IMG] link on their album site. Could I just put the [IMG] at the beginning and end of a http link to the photo? Note from modSorry, I tried to fix this and lost it, but the HTML was repeated in the link - you had two of everything: Http etc, which looks like it may have been the problem
Clair
I have looked at Picasa and, unlike with Photobucket, there does not seem to be a way of posting the picture directly from the album, although you can link to it.
AnOther
You are effectively 'switching to the html view' when you preceed your image link with (img) then close with (/img) - Note: had to use ( ) instead of [ ] as it seems to confuse the forum software if not actually posting a link.Believe it or not, by incorporating those two little html (HyperText Markup Language) commands you have actually written you first web page [geek]Jargon can be such a b itch [:D]
Dick Smith
[IMG]http://photobucket.com/albums/v464/Etvoila/1bc492ce.jpg[/IMG]Hmm. Didn't work. Is that a real Photobucket address? If you have a Photobucket account, use the PB IMG tags.[IMG]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f338/dick_at_aulton/Dick5.jpg[/IMG]that is (square bracket)IMG]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f338/dick_at_aulton/Dick5.jpg[/IMG](square bracket)

Clair
Your last tag should read [/IMG], but as Picasa doesn't make it possible to display a photo elsewhere, it wouldn't work anyway [:)]
Cat
Another test from Picassa That seems to work. Simple old right-click copy in Picassa, followed by right-click paste here. Seems a bit small though.
Cat
Howzat? Increase the display size in the Album view by selecting the largest taille button, then right-click copy, right-click paste, or control-insert followed by shift-insert will also work (old DOS trick). Mutiara
Cathy - Thank you so much! Who would have thought that it was just a simple thing such as "copy + paste". No mucking about with all that IMG stuff [:D]Maybe it works also in photobucket ?

Post Icon - with all the various smilie type icons;2. below that there are the Post and Preview buttons3. Then just the logo with "telligent Community server"Could someone please look into this for me and see if I am running an old version of the Forum or something please?
