Chris Head
For those interested in going to this event a short text is posted below, copied from another website so for formalities its copyright 'Creuse News' As an aside, I have seen a magnificent tree carving Chris has done for the event and its incredible. Worth going to for all the below events plus Chris is doing 'live' chainsaw carving.-------------------------------------------------Creuse Oxygène is primarily a sports clubs in Guéret having organised many important sporting events. However, Alain Menut, the President of the club, wants to go a step further and create an ambitious event for all the family based in the Forêt de Chabrières, Guéret. The 13th and 14th September are the dates for your diary – the theme being ‘the forest’ in all its guises – ecological, economical and fun, with renewable energy being at the centre of the event.Amongst the trees, in the heart of the woodland you’ll find lots to interest you – the workings of an ant hill, bee hives, local flora and fauna. Also the construction of an eco-friendly house, wood as a renewable energy source, wood sculptors, wicker work, clog making and much more. Not to mention hammocks and zip lines suspended in the trees.Over the two days there will be pony and donkey rides, wood sawing, cabin building and nocturnal activities like listening for bats plus the possibility of sleeping in the hammocks in the trees or camping near the wolf park, as well as a 24-hour mountain bike course. This is the first year of this event and it certainly deserves to succeed as the organisation effort has been huge, so if you can, visit the Forest of Chabrières, on the 13th and 14th September, it promises to be a wonderful world of surprises, for full details you can have a look at their website www.creuse-oxygene.com or phone 05 55 61 97 90.
