Pads Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Can you believe some people ?Man Miraculously Survives Motorway Hunting Accident It’s a truly miraculous story: on 4th October, an HGV driver was making his way along the junction exit at Vendargues on the A9 motorway, en route to go pick up his cargo, when a stray bullet from a nearby hunting party shot through the lorry’s windscreen, hitting the man in the head, before rebounding and settling in the lorry. Despite finding blood pouring down his face, the driver, Mr. Abdelkader, had the wherewithal to safely park the lorry and wait for help. Luckily, there just happened to be an ambulance crew nearby, who heard the shots and were able to get Mr. Abdelkader to hospital for treatment. Local police were quickly on the scene, and were able to question two members of the party who were hunting boar that day some 800 metres away from the motorway, and also determine which hunter was responsible for the bullet now lodged in the lorry carcass. Both hunters will be prosecuted for hunting in an unauthorised area, and the hunter who fired the bullet will also be prosecuted for endangering another life through carelessness. During one cycle ride, they heard shots being fired and a young deer shot out. One hunter continued to fire despite the children being there. They are not supposed to hunt anywhere near the paths. They were going to have a word with the gun club, although they suspected that they were outsiders.I didn't know that you could contact the Gendarmes. Would you have phoned using the emergency number (17)?It's a real nuisance because I just cannot send my children out on a bike ride on their own any longer.
