DAB Radio

Not at the moment.    They experimented with the same system as used in Britain but on about 1500 MHz as opposed to 190 - 230 MHz.    It was trialled in about six of the biggest towns and totally failed to take off.

Lucky for them because the technology has moved on and the French can now benefit from all the advances in coding algorithms giving better quality at lower bit rates,   so more stations in high quality.   The new system is supposed to start up next year I believe.

Whilst the BBC are to be praised for their perseverance in bringing DAB to the market,   it means that we're lumbered in Britain with a system that is technologically very long in the tooth,  more expensive in transmission costs,  and which has been prostituted in terms of quality in the rush to bring on more stations in limited spectrum,  many of the commerical ones have now failed anyway.

And no,  your current DAB radio won't work in France!
