Les
Hi.If my Fiancee and I become married in France once we move there permanently, do the French inform the UK authorities or do we have to let them know. This is in relation to tax and pensions, etc.Regards. Les.
duckalaronze
We believe, having got married here last year, that you will have to inform the relative authorities in England. You can get certified copies of your marriage certificate from the Mairie after the event. Be prepared for lots of beaurocracy - translations of everything, new (date stamped) birth certificates from the UK, a certificate from the British Embassy to say you are over 18 etc,But it's well worth it! We made over 60 euros on the "raise the garter" custom at the reception in our barn - thinking of taking that up full time!!lots of luck (and patience!)Gill & Alan
