Kitty
What speed do they travel at (terminal velocity is 120mph)? How do they land safely?
WJT
I had another look at it after your question and in the final image it looked like one of them used a parachute of some sort. Amazing isn't it?!
MrCanary
That has to be a fixed video. Sorry to be a sceptic, but I don't believe what it purports to show. Clever cinematography! But I would be very happy to be wrong...
Âme
Maybe there is some clever editing. Regardless of that, what a rush it must be. I liked the bit where the three jumped together & did a roll. Wow!
WJT
Here is another one, but this one jumps from a plane instead of a cliff.http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zeVI8w5Cz-I&feature=related

Kitty
So, in a sense, it is just like free fall parachuting. Hence why they have to start so high up.I thought that they had a kind of motor on their backs but looking again at the video, they don't appear to have one. Théière
Our neighbour has his own little airstrip for his little plane but also lets the local police use it with their hang glider sort of things. They have a large desk fan strapped to their backs [:)]
Chancer
In the last few months a French guy (or he may have been French speaking Swiss or Belgian) flew across the English channel using a turbine powered carbon fibre wing suit, he landed near Dover castle by parachute but I think that he was launched by an light aircraft on the French side.I saw the footage on either TF1 or FR3 news, if anyone can find a web our youtube link I would love to see it again. Kitty
He was called Yves Rossy. Here is a You Tube link. It is 9 minutes' long but has interesting commentary with it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMjuzy68hw0
WJT
It appears to me that he has wings attached to him with some sort of motor versus the suit in the first clip. But still looks like a lot of fun. [:)]
