French Frank
In the UK, it is considered ok to gather firewood from woodland as long as it is fallen. Is this the same in France?

Meduse
Our neighbours have told us we can collect any falled wood from the surrounding woods.
Tony F Dordogne
For me it's the same as people who come and helpfully pick your mushrooms and don't ask or share them with you.You want to come and clear some of the fallen trees or branches in my woods, not a problem. Do it without even the courtesy of asking and making proper arrangements - time etc - serious problem, just be polite and ask and it should be ok. If it's just left and not on occupied land, why not ask at the Mairie if it's ok? After all, the plot may be owned by the commune as many close to me are.
