Trouble at Mill

A point of some levity is the debate on the "trouble at mill" forum from IT Professionals[:)]with decades of UK experience as to the impossibility of running a free forum by the members of the forum and how insurmountable legal problems will result. However in FRANCE this is not a particularly uncommon pursuit; really just a question of getting "bums" on seats and quite legal. Well you know what I mean if the Gendarmerie Nationale do it, then it must be "kosher" and above board. Hyperlien below to a mundane free web site.

how do you get away with discussing this here. I tried 2 days ago and was sent a stern reminder that this is not allowed! since writing a very polite message to the new owner re. my disappoitment re both Monika and naps fate- I have been locked out. As soon as I try to log in it says 'temporarily unavailable'. I have cleared caches, cookies - but still can't get in. Sent another message to guy Hibbert who assures me it has nothing to do with my message!

Do wonder how you manage to keep going- as my thread was removed immediately! Bonne chance

Thank you so much for you kind suggestions clair! The difference with the new site mentioned above is that it is by run by and for its users.

Does that mean you have to have a whip round when the 'free bandwith' is exceeeded ?[:)]

I belong to a motorcycle forum and that's exactly what we do, put the hat round.

FF looks like it is going to be very active, full of lively and interesting people. The majority of threads here have been inactive for days or weeks. time to move on methinks. Apart for lovely chats en français with Frenchie et compagnie.
This moderating business is very strange. I was told yesterday am in no uncertain terms, that mentioning TF was out of bounds when I did so - and here is a thread doing just that - with 3 moderators taking part?
Odile, you're the only one who has mentioned it...

While I'd never presume to reply on behalf of a CF moderator, I expect that mention of the existence of another French-related forum - or, indeed, fora - is unlikely to be a problem. News of their existence is in the public domain. [:D]

Discussion of specifics
relating to another forum is, on the other hand, unlikely to be appropriate and, as far as I can see, isn't taking place.

Hope that helps. [:)]
