Evianers
Can some kind forum member point us in the right direction to find comprehensive consumers' rights please? English or French but relating particularly to French supermarkets.Always, but always, check your supermarket bills. Not quite every single time, but almostand twice in the last two days there has been a mistake in the bill. Itgoes without saying that it is always in "their" favour, neveryours..... and they are not best pleased when the mistake is pointedout, always blaming "the computer". We took a packet of dried dates from the shelf marked at €0.85 - it went through the till at €2,15 andwhen we pointed this out, manager tore off the 85 cent ticket from theshelving, saying the price had increased. INCREASED, you're notkidding! Nearly 300%! Do they have the right to do this? Natrally we declined to pay the extra. Unlike some supermarkets in the UK when the price is wronglymarked, it does not seem the policy hereabouts to give the articlefree.Any help most appreciated.Genuinely Fed-Up of Evian

bubbles
This has happened to me a few times in Carrefour. There they make you queue up (and I mean queue up - somethimes for ages) at the customer services.Once you get to the desk though, they always give you twice the difference.Mind you, they have yet to apologise. Nell
I just love this bit from Clair's very informative links...Special offers: be careful!!!Apart from during sales periods and stock clearances, the products shown on any advertising matter must be available for the whole period the offer is valid. If the product runs out, the trader must do everything possible to procure the product for you at the stated price. Can someone show this to stores like Auchan and Carrefour. They advertise in their weekly rags, all kinds of offers, but try finding some of them, especially home wares and gardening stuff. Any time I have asked the stock reply is "Not available in this store". If this is the case why is their stores location printed on the back of the rag that gets stuffed into my letterbox every week ?? Sorry I'm getting away from the original post. Yes there is lots of wrong pricing. What I try to do is get the OH to pack, while I keep an eye on the till display. If I see something wrong I give it back and query the price, before the end of the sale... if not it's join the queue at customer services [:'(]I know what you're thinking now "So she's the one that holds up the queue" [Www][Www] Well at least I have my purse at the ready as soon as I am informed of the total amount [blink]
