Boots have suggested using (once only) methylated spirit to remove.Any suggestionsSueyalso posted this in house renovations bit.
Gluestick
The British product Meths, is only the awful sort of maroonish colour, because of the addition of oils and colours to identify it and to make meths drinkers (Jake Men), honk up!France, being an essentially civilised place, sells precisely the same stuff, however without the addition of colourants; It is called "Alcool À Brùller", and is usually available in supermarchés, together with a range of most useful products, including Àcetone, (Try buying that easily in the UK!), Ammonia, Hydrochloric Acid and other fun stuff! Found usually near the cleaning stuff. And costs pennies.Commercial alcohol, such as meths and as used by cabinet makers for French Polishing is, from memory, Methyl Alcohol (Hence "Meths"): whereas the stuff you can drink is Ethyl Alcohol: which is also available from Pharmacies, cheaply, in large bottles and used by the French to make their appalling dark walnut drink and other unmentionable jollies![:'(]
