DerekJ
Today Major Phil Packer completed his ascent of 1800 feet mountain, El Capitan.1800 feet, 4254 pulls and 4 days.Enough for anyone, but for a paraplegic, blown up in Basra it's something very special. If that isn't enough, he's just completed the London Marathon and before that rowed the channel. He's now raised in excess of £1,000,000A true hero in my eyes. Keni
Saw it on the news earlier - the journo asked the usual crass question - upon reaching the top, it was something like ' how do you feel?'To which I feel my reply would have been - 'Great, now I am going to enter the marathon next year'.How did he feel? He's struggled up a sheer rock face only using his arms for strength, slept on a tiny platform and you don't want to know the hygiene arrangements, grief I could kickfellow journos at times!!
