chocccie
my friend is leaving France and said I can have his Safegom 'house gun'. It is a 7th category ... 11.6mm (I think). He belives that I just need to have a doctor (UK or French), sign a declaration that I am not mad (or whatever the technical term is!) and there's no reason why I should not have this gun.I'll then need to inform the Prefecture and they will send the Gendarmes around for me to sign a declaration. This was all true when he got this gun but perhaps things have changed in the meantime. Can anybody give me any guidance please? The gun, incidentally, is purely to keep in a safe place in case I am endangered in my own home ... it will never be taken out of the house, used for hunting, or anything like that. I'd never go and buy one, but as it's going begging I might as well have it.thanks

woolybanana
At the risk of stirring up controversy, Catch 22 applies here does it not: to want a gun you have to be mad, yet to apply for one you must not be.
