woolybanana
If you scroll down you can see the Transparency International report on corruption in France. An interesting read which I think does not scratch the surface:http://www.transparency.org/content/download/46259/740832

powerdesal
Not quite below Afghanistan - yet !!!"Fragile, unstable states which have been scarred by war were at the bottom of the index. These were: Somalia, with a score of 1.1, Afghanistan at 1.3, Burma at 1.4 and Sudan tied with Iraq at 1.5."
pachapapa
In my "coin " of the France profonde the "ploucs" are charming ,helpful, honest, etc,etc.....The french body politic and judiciary are morally corrupt..... in UK I reckon the politicos are more corrupt and the judiciary , with the exception of magistrates, less corrupt.
