Many areas if wasteage of public money targeted by this report

I have already mentioned the case of the Inspectors of the Acadamie de Paris, but there are many other examples of bad management of public funds in the

annual report of the Cour des Comptes out this week.

They range from transport, with the poor productivity of the SNCF, the debt of the RATP, and the fact that air traffic controllers only work about 100 days a year, to the Police's management of  their vehicles (including excessive use for private purposes), and the mysterious  cancellation of  500,000 traffic fines.

Aid to agriculture, and over-generous pensions for the CESE are also singled out
