Kitty
I have rather a lot of children to look care for. The youngest happens to be a 10 year old boy. Now people say that boys forget Mothering Sunday. Not mine.At 6.30am this morning, I heard the clatter of plates in the kitchen and tried to put the racket out of my mind so that I could concentrate on the important task of sleeping on a Sunday morning.About 30 mins later, in walked my son with a large plank of wood (he couldn't find a tray *1). On the plank was a home-made card, a cup of lukewarm (very) strong coffee, some cereal in a jug (for pouring into the bowl), a banana, 2 jugs of milk (one for the cereal and one for the coffee, he said) and a home-made paper boa to put on my head. One-two-three-ahhhhhhhhh.By the way, the home-made card said: 'My mummy is a magician. She knows how to make a cake disappear'. It was even spelled correctly. For once, I actually enjoyed being a mother.Happy Mothering Sunday!* 1 Such a boy thing to do.
Gemonimo
That's soooo sweet Cathy! And you are right, boys are very romantic. I have heard it said that boys brought up in a predominantly female home make the best husbands - probably because they have learned to keep a profile and do as they are told....[Www]

They both attribute their strength of character to being brought up by lots of women and surrounded by love.
