philski
I use the autoroutes 4/5 times a year and I have been trying to get a libet-t tag for convenience, with no luck.Is it possible to get said tag without a French bank account? If so please help. I have trying for a while and cannot find a way.My French is not brilliant but the online forms do not have the UK in the dropdown menu? Sanef and Alis ask for French bank acc only.
Loiseau
Welcome to the forum, Philski! There are several threads about this on the "Driving in France" section of the forum.I do have one that is debited to my UK credit card, but I have read recently during the discussions in the other section that it will be compulsory to switch to having it debited to my French bank account soon.So presumably for new subscribers the French bank account is the only option.AngelaPS Some of the threads refer to the gadget as a "doofer". In the Driving forum, you coul ddo a search using that word and see what comes up.
philski
Hi Angela, thanks for the quick response any idea when the change will be made or has it already changed?
cooperlola
When I looked at this yesterday, Philski, I had a quick look around the forum and it appears that SANEF was one of the companies which used to accept a UK credit card. Then I looked at your first post again and saw that you'd tried them without luck. I guess it's just a case of googling autoroute and trying to find another company who can help. I know that ALIS is French accounts only - don't know of any others because these are the two who run the roads I use!
cooperlola
I found this on the Autoroute.fr website. There's an English version, but it's taking yonks to load and lunch is up!http://www.telepeagelibert.com/index.htm

cooperlola
I can't get the English version to work, I admit, but the French one works perfectly and gives you access to most of the Autoroute operators and several different badge options. philski
Hi all cracked it! tolltickets.com they accept UK credit cards (not sure about banks).More expensive than Alis or Sanef, but at least you can get on.They do short term ones ie.21 days or yearly which seem very expensive to me.Form is fairly straightforward but have your vehilcle docs handy. If anyone has used one through tolltickets please let me know how it worked.I've ordered one for early Jan.Here's hoping. AnOther
An interesting find.Useful and affordable in the short term but at €43pa + 7% of turnover on an annual basis far too expensive to even consider. If you are thinking of ordering one for just the occasions when you need it don't forget the cost of sending it back each time [;-)]
