crossy67
We bought 500ltrs on 7-1-11. The total cost was E432.35, this included TVA so 86.47cents/litre. We were only over to buy the house so didn't have the time to shop round.I need to find a boiler that runs on wine I think[I]

Anton Redman II
Talk to your French neighbours. If you can sort out a delivery of say 10000 litres within a kilometre you should be able to drop the price by a cent a litre

PaulT
I bought 500 litres right at the end of November and it was just over 0.70 euros per litre. Amazing service, arrived at the house on a Saturday, oil ran out on the Sunday, phoned at 08:30 on the Monday and was quoted a Tuesday delivery, asked if they could deliver sooner and they delivered at 10:30 on the Monday. The organisation that I work for had two deliveries in early December of 17,300 litres per delivery. The cost per litre converted to euros 0.744. Wonder how much people pay in the UK for a delivery of 500 litres.Paul
Claude
Yesterday I paid 0,76€ per litre but it was part of a round for the village. I didn't buy much myself as we are going to fit a pompe de chaleur in the summer.

Chancer
Around here the Picard way of negotiating, not that it ever achieves much is to insult and ridicule the other party in as loud a voice as possible to attract an audience to your respective side, a bit like a bully in a playground, or on a forum come to that!It can be witnessed every weekend at the local rédéries, for the most its just nasty haranging and points scoring but even a mild exchange between Picards is very in your face and confrontational, visitors have been known to run away in fear. If a big enough crowd has gathered it can derape and become a stand up fight especially if someone loses face, the ultimate insult which usually tips the balance is "vous me prenez pour un Americain, hein?" Martin963
The price is going through the roof here in Britain. A neighbour had 400 litres for £300; 75 p per litre. Whilst the price was higher as it was a bit of an emergency and a small delivery it's still pretty shocking, even if you assume 65 p per litre that's the same price now with oil at $99 per barrel as it was when oil was $145 at the peak. So someone somewhere is making a pretty penny. At that price it's cheaper to heat by electric fan heater, even at peak rate electricity.
