Martin963
Could some kind bod please tell me whether:ECOPLI T 50 gprepaid envelopes are valid for use when posting something back to France from Britain. My insurers want an additional signature on yet another cop-out clause to their policy, and I'm damned if I want to spend 60 p sending it to them when it's protecting their - not my - interests.Any help gratefully received.Thanks. pachapapa
Good question. I believe Eco-Plis are OK for Clipperton.[I]
cooperlola
I remember from the days when I still lived in the UK, getting pre-paid envelopes which were very obviously valid throughout Europe. It doesn't sound like this is the case here - that looks like a standard inland one to me, with a 50gram limit. I've looked at the La Poste website and can't figure out what the obvious differences are though.I got one of these the other day which was clearly inadequate weight-wise but just stuck the pre-paid envelope on a larger one and left it to the recipient to deal with any extra charges. The postman took it out of our box and didn't say it couldn't be sent. I guess it's a question of whether or not it's something you're prepared to risk and how urgent it is, given that the UK postal workers might not understand what it means either! Martin963
Thanks coops. That was my problem too - really isn't very clear. Not for the first time I have no idea what ppp is referring to, but thanks anyway. If nothing else your posts remind me why I don't do crosswords.... pachapapa
Clipperton is a not well known french island, uninhabited, to which La Poste, bless them, quote Eco-Pli tarrifs.http://www.clipperton.fr/
cooperlola
There's plenty of info' about what it costs and where they are valid (this varies according to what is paid) but no info' that I can find on what the obvious differences are between the actual envelopes and what is printed on them - if you can find out how an Ecopli envelope valid for Clipperton differs in appearance (if at all) from one for mainland France then that would be a real help, Pacha.[:)]

cooperlola
I found the documents you did. However, as there are two tarrifs - you'd think that it ought to be obvious from the envelope which one had been paid - otherwise who would ever pay for the pricier one? Pierre, I like your idea. I never thought of posting myself to sunnier climes but I guess anything is worth a try...[:)]
