idun
What no mention of Jacques Chirac in court. What no mention of Annie Giradot's passing.Just wondering if such things are too french for this board. Doesn't anyone else watch Le Journal de France 2 everyday or even most days? I only mention F2's infos as it is on TV5Monde as well as in France itself. Patf
I was following the Chirac story, and saw the case has been delayed yet again. Is it back on track now?No, I don't see the Journal de France 2, but get the Depeche du Midi twice a week. I think we can get a french news tv programme, but it usually concentrates on world matters. You're right though, we should take more interest in the french political scene.Must admit though, never heard of Annie Giradot [:$]
5-element
Well I don't always keep up with the forum, but I do keep up with the news.Annie Girardot's passing, yes that was very sad, such a great, wonderful actress, and very poignant end of life with Alzheimer when she said to someone: "Now you know much more about my life than I do!"Chirac's court case has been postponed - we sill see if it ends up being indefinitely, or not.Although, I must admit that with Libya and its dictator's antics, and other Arab countries in the news, and then to top it all, the horrors of Japan, I am finding it difficult to focus on anything else - most other news do pale into insignificance. pachapapa
And not much further afield the italians celebrate 150 years of national unity. Lambrusconi graces the teatro dell'opera for that Verdi favourite, perhaps the most beautiful opera of all time. RAI3 already half way through the work, excellent.Arte will be showing it "en direct" from 22:15 if you want the beginning again.[;-)]
woolybanana
Seems good to me. And the Italian prime minister is still at it like a rabbit on speed.

idun
Well when my Dad was as young as Berlusconi, he was still chasing the ladies, and catching them. Is being in one's mid seventies supposed to indicate being 'past it' in some way? I do hope not.
