Quillan
I keep meaning to ask this but what do the different lights on top of a Taxi mean or indicate? One passed me the other day and it looked like Blackpool illuminations.
Balham
The lights indicate which tarif is applicable. Loiseau
... One passed me the other day and it looked like Blackpool illuminations.
Yeah, I wondered this the other day. I have seen two taxis recently, both in out-of-town situations, which seemed to have specially gaudy (?red) lighting on the roof. I almost took them for emergency vehicles at first sight. I have never noticed this before. On the subject of taxis - to tip or not to tip?I took one in La Rochelle last week, from station to airport, and when I gave the guy a tip he was so effusively grateful that I thought he was going to embrace me...[8-)]Angela
