NormanH
The unelected Minister of the Interior Claude Guéant (or Puant) as I call him has declared that there are too many foreigners entering France legally every year, and wants to see the number cut by 10%.But those of you who still have the 'French Dream' needn't worry.'Foreigner' in his mouth doesn't quite mean everybody...He takes into account how sun-tanned you are.http://www.lefigaro.fr/flash-actu/2011/11/27/97001-20111127FILWWW00088-gueant-trop-d-etrangers-accueillis.php Nor does he wish to give foreigners the right to vote in local elections. The result might be foreign Maires....
idun
And how did a certain hungarian family get into France I wonder? Legally?I'm not surprised at this, it has always been 'floating' around. My conseiller at my bank said I wasn't foreign, I was anglaise and that was different. Maybe if I hadn't been white anglaise it wouldn't have been different at all. Kitty
On the official autoentrepreneur form, I ticked 'etranger' and took it to the desk, whereupon the administrator said that I had made a mistake. I had ticked the wrong box. I wasn't a foreigner but European.
Albert the InfoGipsy
Funny. In the newsagents there was a headline saying that about 60% of French approve of 'foreigners' having the vote. I didn't get the paper so don't know exactly what is meant by 'foreigner' in this particular story, but the photo accompanying the headline looked somewhat maghrebin.
