Babbles
Well I've had my ups and downs but on the whole baring up OK, some friends have been absolutely there for me while others see to want to point out all the problems I'm going to have which does seem a strange way to be supportive, but thats some peoples nature I suppose. I've got back in touch with people who I've met over the time I've been here who I hadn't seen much of and as its quite November people have the time for me which is great. Even when I'm having a wobble I do think I'm gonna be alright but sometimes the days do seem very long, but I thought that when I was with MOH and I have to everything round the house so no change there either! Always helps when the skies are blue and I can take Jake the Jack Russell for a long walk
Val_2
I did not quite understand the posting at first but then realised there was a previous thread and read throughthat. I have found myself on my own too although only for part of the week until my son comes home from uni mid week currently but next year it will be back to the weekend only. I find the loneliest time is just before bed, about 10.30pm when everything is quiet and I can still see my husband either working out his devis or snoring in his armchair - that does hurt.Like you say though, having a dog helps and I take him for a good long walk during the day and its amazing how many other single folk you meet on your travels and can have a chat and a moan with. Once xmas is over the nights will begin to get out again and there is spring to look forward to and planning the gardening work. I think the secret to loneliness is keeping yourself busy with anything you can, even doing a jigsaw or experimenting with some cooking whiles away the long dark winter nights.
