woolybanana
This Hyper U seems to have been caught repacking and relabelling meat as well as changing the sell by dates. I always thought that chain was a bit better than others, but then it is a franchise so it may just be local policy. How many others are at it?http://www.lepoint.fr/societe/langeac-decouverte-de-viande-reemballee-dans-un-supermarche-01-04-2013-1648288_23.php(translation : http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lepoint.fr%2Fsociete%2Flangeac-decouverte-de-viande-reemballee-dans-un-supermarche-01-04-2013-1648288_23.php )
NormanH
You are right about it being a franchise.I don't buy much food in supermarkets, just a few frozen fruit veg from Picard , but I too thought that the various U shops were a bit above average. How disappointing.
Val_2
A friend who worked at our local branch told us this a few years back and had actually seen the meat re-packaged and re-labelled and warned us about it so its nothing new.
Chancer
Both the Intermarché and Maxi-coop in the loacl town have been prosecuted more than once for réemballage.Doesnt really concern me as its only what I effectively do at home to avoid throwing stuff away, it means that some people get filet in their steack haché or faux filet in their mérguéz without paying any more.Besides I never shop there!! They will just pay the fine then do it again .... When the staff member who actually does the re packing and sticks on the new label knows they will be the one that will be named and in court and punished only then will it stop .
