Frecossais
A little bit late posting this, but we don't have the internet at home in France. We haven't been to a firework display for many years, but went along to our local village fete for 14th July and stayed for the fireworks. Fantastic! The confusion of noise and colour was really exciting, sometimes you'd have sworn like Chicken-licken, that the sky was falling on your head, but the piece de resistance was a series of red candle-like flames that burst from the sky, landed in the river, and floated downstream. It was magic on a warm summer evening, especially as the last two years have been rained off.And all free!
Hoddy
Not exactly free - ours is paid for out of the rates.Wonderful all the same, particularly for us, as it's my OH's birthday.Hoddy
idun
I used to go to the ones in the nearby city, they were good, but our villages were pretty poor, I think once we had something half decent. And for those in the Haute Savoie, then the Fete du Lac in Annecy, I think around the beginning of August is superb. For the last five minutes of that one, I always feel like I am in a dream, it is so magical.
Frederick
I watch it over the sea from the prom while ducking roman candles the kids are holding and determined to have somebody's eye out with !
