woolybanana
And one more Socialist minister bites the dust tonight as he resigns for income tax 'irregularities'.Either French politicians are totally corrupt or British poiticians are getting away with a bit more than we know about.Or French politicians need their bottoms smacking.Or British politicians need some lessons in working the system.Or a plague on all their houses.Norman, I am sure you would vote Sarko if you could! Racerbear02
The cynical part of me notes the fortuitous timing of the release of this information as being remarkably close to the launch of the book on Hollande, could it possibly be an attempt at misdirection?? surely not. NormanH
Well even your favorites are having their little squabblesWhat do I think of Farage? Well it now seems that he has replaced democracy with his casting couch. Apparently if you fit the bill he will slip you into the position of his choice. Now that Douglas Carswell is Nigel’s bitch, he will perpetually be picking up the political equivalent of prison soap. Trust me on that one.[:P] [:D] [:-))]http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/04/nigel-farage-candidate-ukip-clacton-douglas-carswell

YCCMB
I think it says as much about journalists and politicians in general as it does about Sarko or Hollande that they seriously believe the general public to be so gullible and suggestible that if they suddenly publish a story saying "OK, Hollande may be a numpty, but Sarko is even worse, look!" everyone's going to say "Oooh, yessss, well, in that case, we'll stick with the lovely Francois...."It's the same the world over. If they'd concentrate on playing the ball and not the man, things might get somewhere.

NormanH
But there was no comparison between two people in this thread, and I reckon that these accusations about Sarkozy go beyond 'people' (unlike the recent detestable book about Hollande) since they touch on 'ideas' or 'values' such as honesty, corruption or the idea that a foreign power can buy influence.
