 An article tonight on french news about house raids. I hadn't heard of these before, I had heard of all sorts of car jackings, but not house jacking, although I am not sure if house jacking is really a proper term, is it? Whatever, it must be terrifying for the householders.

Yes, saw that item on the news last night.

What drew shock and admiration was how elderly and frail some of the victims were.  I couldn't imagine the trauma these house-jackings must have inflicted.

I also couldn't help but admire how these elderly folk manage to live in quite isolated locations.  I'd be nervous as hell if I couldn't see other houses.

There is something particularly disturbing about vulnerable and elderly people being attacked, but far more so when it's in their own homes.  What is a person to do if they can't even be safe in their own home?  The violent aspect of the incidents are very unsettling.
