woolybanana
It seems that some GPs and specialists will be going on strike over the Xmas period, from 22nd December in protest at changes to the system by which they are paid (the tiers payant). It would be wise to find out what medical cover is available in your area and what alternatives are being put in place.
mint
Yes, Wooly, we have had a notice from our CPAM about this and which contains some advice though what good the advice will be if the strike goes ahead is anyone's guess[:-))]There were no actual dates mentioned. Well, OH and I have only recently visited our doctor and we have got our supplies of medications.I haven't done much in the way of Christmas shopping so pills, eye drops and inhalers might be all that will feature on our festive table [:P] Anyone popping over to see us is advised that meals might be a bit haphazard! woolybanana
Yes, I am stocked up on pills, but will be going to London by car on Saturday, so should avoid it all. Though I am not so sure than getting urgent treatment in UK will be any easier.Fancy eye-drops in your stocking, Nimt or inhalers under the tree - so romantic, so magical. By the way, will the stockings you use be the surgical type?
mint
Yeah, those thick, white ones that are strongly elasticated to prevent varicose veins[:D]Have a wonderful time, Wools, and dit bonjour à Angela de ma part [:)]
Cendrillon
Those surgical stockings also come in dark green, very seasonal! Be aware that they tend to have a hole on the sole section so the presents might fall out.![;-)]
woolybanana
So Nimt has a hole in her soul from which her presence tumbles. Now, that is interesting
mint
No worries, Wools, if I have a hole in my fish, I'd just fill it with something interesting, like a mild curry and herb paste?
Hereford
Our doctor's surgery has three notices about this. No mention of the word "greve" - which I don't technically think it is. A member of a Profession liberale can presumably choose their opening hours. There is a list of things headed "ras le bol" (which sounds rather better than "enough is enough" I think!)The notices just say that to show their frustration the "cabinet sera fermee" from 23rd to 31st inclusive. I think that as it is a public holiday on 1st January they will actually re-open on 2nd.I suspect 15 will get a lot of calls next week.Mrs H
