idun
TV5 Monde was off the air as the daesh hacked them and put their 'logo' on the screen. The tv station was off air for several hours. Not a mention that I saw on BBC, SKY or ITV news, although between the election and rotten football, it seems little else is considered important and so I avoid other than the weather. Are all these tv stations so 'clever' with their IT that this cannot possibly happen to them? And yet to me this really was news, real news. And I saw this news on TV5Monde tonight, the Journal de 20h, and I was very pleased to watch it.

I saw something the other day about people having their card stollen and money taken from their bank account. The person they were talking to admitted that they wrote the pin number on the back of the card so they didn't forget it! Another wrote their password to their saving account in the savings book (didn't know they still used them?). I admit I tend to use the same password but it is not an easy one to know as it has no connection with me, is quite long and contains symbols plus upper case letters and was randomly generated. It's only written down in one place (for emergencies so Mrs Q can find it) and thats kept in a safe. It just came to my mind that I wonder how many Novel and CISCO networks still have the default password, the same with Orange routers and the best one, Sage Account packages with the infamous LetMeIn system password. You can't blame the programming, it's always people that make the mistakes.
