Gardian
Our younger son has always said about southern France (as opposed to the UK) that all the creatures down here are that much bigger, as in much bigger.Initially, you get used to the spids and so on. They're just a pain year round.Come the Summer though ............I've had toads as big as your fist, grass snakes, green lizards 25cms long, bucketloads of gekos (some of whom seem attracted to the indoors!), and plenty of other things rustling about in the dry leaves here & there. The latest (sadly) was a big dead frog in the pool overnight - guess that the chlorine wasn't to his taste. Lehaut
Just come back from a week on Corsica. Was very surprised by the lack of any wildlife there, saw no snakes, lizards, very few birds of prey or insects. We spent most of the time off the main roads.Within 30 seconds of coming out of the airport at Rennes, a lizard ran across the path in front of us. I know the French hunt everything, but given the vegetation on Corsica, thought it was a bit odd.Did see one Kite though.
