New Coach lines opening up

Recommended Posts

I wonder what it is like. I have used the Mega bus once and wouldn't again, but would do if I were fitter...... and younger[Www]

OH uses National Coaches a lot and has used Eurolines into northern europe too and says that they are fine, even with long legs, enough room for him.

I'm glad that there are now cheaper long distance coach journeys easily available in France. Didn't the SNCF start this a little while ago?

SNCF has had a coach service for some time - it used to be called IDBus and they've recently rebranded it as OUIbus. Very similar to Eurolines on the London-Paris run, about the same price and same route, their coaches are slightly better in that you're more likely to have an electrical socket and functioning wifi, but last time I looked the timetable was slightly less convenient for me.

Our son has been using it Toulouse to Rennes since it started. 56€ special student offers SNCF, 47€ BlaBla car, 27€ with the Flixbus. All three take 10 hours. Comfy coach, charges for phones etc and wifi. They had to lay on three at Christmas as they were all full. Some people take their bikes. He is a student, so very happy with the service and the price.

They had to alter the leaving time once so far, they sent him a text and phoned him to inform him of the change. You don't get that with SNCF (we know as second son uses the train each weekend).
