I popped down to the sea in the cold snap

Well yes Norman, but I'll bet that it was more than a bit 'parky'.

Up here in the rural Gard, it was -5C at 09.00 this morning, so down there on the beach it must have been bracing to say the least!

Still, the locals say that you need a really cold winter like this one - kills all the nasties and forewarns a really hot summer.

In fact at 2.30 p.m it was about 10° C

The Med really makes a difference, but it only extends about 25 kms inland...

Walking home across the square from the car park..you can see the same intense blue sky...
