NormanH
No great surprise. He is in the tradition of right-wing leaders in France who come before the courts.Chirac and Juppé were both found guilty...
AnOther
Fair warms the cockles of the heart but why has it taken 5 years ?
woolybanana
The Left is just as bad, Norman, but better at hiding their sins.
idun
Five years does not seem a long time in France. Many are jailed awaiting trial and when they are found guilty, even for quite a long term, already have time served and are let out immediately. French justice...... which always sounds like an oxymoron to me these days........ as it lumbering lethargic inflexible institution......................and sadly, I'll add british 'justice' to that oxymoron mix too these days........Sarko, well some go to jail, but it is not usual for the top dogs....... is this a waste of public funds?????????
