woolybanana
Plenty of empty buildings in Paris, hotels and the like. But woud anyone really wanna live in Paris, city of street riots and car burnings?
alittlebitfrench
I have not seen any riots or car burnings recently !!!Have you been reading to much UK press again ???Besides, you are more likely to be burnt to death in an expat renovation in the Dordogne than in a Paris riot. LOL.What would be more dangerous to your health ? Living in Aubervillers or Aubusson.....hmmm

nomoss
Building skyscraoers to attract London jobs sounds a bit like those natives in Papua new Guinea who built "runways" in the jungle to attract the aeroplanes they saw flying overhead to bring them "cargo". woolybanana
The bribes being offered to get companies to Paris must be pretty huge, too.
mint
The French wouldn't be the only people to offer bribes to companies. What do you think May offered Nissan to "persuade" them to make that announcement about making the new X-trail in Sunderland in the aftermath of the Brexit referendum? In Wales, all through the 80s, the Welsh govt were giving Japanese companies so much dosh to "invest" in Wales that at one time, there was an astonishing statistic to show that for each "job" created, the govt were paying over a million pounds! How many visas and how much money to go to India for a "free trade" agreement and indeed how much was promised to Turkey to give us that little jobbie for British Aerospace? AND, indeed, in terms of the aerospace industry, it was a very tiny "deal".
woolybanana
Now then, Nimty, let us get this right, the British persuade, the French bribe. The former is so much more elegant!!!
mint
The French might be more sneaky but the British are more shameless[:P]
