andyh4
Yes it is for the refuse collection. Some communes have started to split these costs out from Taxe d'Habitation - I guess yours is one.Whether you are there 1 week or 52 weeks, the truck still passes the end of your garden and has to be manned as if you were there.Sorry but reality has to strike occasionally. brit
So are you saying this isn't an extra tax but is in fact just part of habitation tax that we pay for normally?
andyh4
It is being treated separately. In theory your TdH should go down. I would be surprised if it did.
suein56
Our taxe d'ordures ménagères has always formed part of our taxe foncière. The rubbish removal part has a line of its own on the bill.Have you tried looking at your last foncière bill ? If the rubbish removal fee there bears any relation to the bill you have just received, then Bingo.Sue
Loiseau
My ordures ménagères charge has always been a separate bill. Was once a year, but now twice.Mind you, we now have a very flashy new déchèterie that no doubt had to be funded somehow!
NormanH
https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F22730La redevance est encaissée :soit par la commune ou le groupement de communes, soit, sur décision de la collectivité concernée, par le concessionnaire du service. Gardian
........... and ours is done completely differently! It used to be a separate annual bill. Roughly E150 from memory. That was for a household of 2 adults - you paid proportionately more for 3+. All pretty fair. All of a sudden, with no consultation, it was changed to being levied as a % of your valeur locative (basically rateable value) & collected through the taxe fonciere (or it might be taxe d'hab, can't remember).Anyway, the upshot is that whilst we don't live in 'Le Chateau Gardian', our vl is above the commune average and accordingly we now pay nearly double what we used to pay.Less than amused, but you have to shrug your shoulders.
