NormanH
Was announced today. The main points are in this article in Le Figarohttp://www.lefigaro.fr/conjoncture/2018/09/13/20002-20180913ARTFIG00122-plan-pauvrete-macron-annonce-un-revenu-universel-d-activite.php
YCCMB
Hmm...universal credit, keeping kids in education until 18...all sound vaguely familiar. No free school meals, though. Those are still going to cost €1.

Regards the rest, that Mr Maron is not really in touch with reality methinks. He will not be reelected. I did have high hopes for him.
mint
Some of this does smack of Blair's promise to eliminate childhood poverty all those years ago.ALBF, the parents pay 1 euro for the meal but he did not say that the meals will only cost 1 euro each......lol...I suppose that it is something that he is thinking about the problem and has plans to do something about it. However, I really don't think that the sums mentioned are nearly enough.PS the creche for just 1 euro, that must be music to parents' ears because I keep hearing about how much people have to pay for childcare in the UK
NormanH
I don't think it is quite Universal credit...there is the word 'activity' in there and much of what he says all the time is about rewarding work and effort and giving people the means to get out of poverty rather than just pay benefits.. YCCMB
I'm pretty sure that Universal Credit works in much the same way though, Norman. It rolls up all the benefits available to low- or no-income families. Being in work isn't a barrier to obtaining it. It's intended to supplement low incomes as much as to pay the unemployed. Anyway it's a fiasco.
