anotherbanana
A salutary tale of woe for one landlord and a very crafty tenant. Oh, and the Law in France is an absolute ass!https://immobilier.lefigaro.fr/article/son-locataire-lui-doit-plus-de-31-000-euros-elle-vit-dans-un-camping-car_ad479620-9b71-11eb-9e49-b1d6452cf4f9/

anotherbanana
Oh, I dont know; rural property is relatively cheap compared to some other countries, the climate can be very clement and once you have managed the paperwork the authorities tend to leave you alone. Lehaut
Once bitten twice shy. Took us 5 years to get our renter out, then she died before we received the court's decision. Never, never again.
alittlebitfrench
A family friend has squatters in a property he owns in Nantes. Not sure it is a house. It think it is a warehouse / land that they were going to build a house on.Anyway, he can't get them out. It is costing him a fortune in legal costs. Basically, he can't do nothing. If it was me, I would pay some gypsies to go and set up camp on the land and ask them to be less than discrete as possible. That would get them out.You know, laws in France benefit those who want to break the law.
nomoss
It's not a French thing. We had a similar experience in England.
