Ex Forum Admin Posted November 1, 2004 Share Posted November 1, 2004 BRITTANY FERRIES is to move in quickly following the P & O announcement that it is closing its Portsmouth - Cherbourg route at the end of this year. Brittany Ferries plans to recommence a service on 3 January using its 30,000-ton luxury cruise-ferry, Val de Loire.To give you an idea of size it is more or less the same as Swann Hellenic’s new 650-passenger Minerva II cruise liner but with two cinemas and no swimming pool. Crossing time is just five hours.
