zeb
Hi - we are travelling from the Charente to Boulogne on Thursday 3rd March. Has anyone got access to a long range weather forecast for that day? It's about -6 here this morning and some of our pipes are frozen so I'm getting a wee bit worried about icey roads

Oh what it is to be semi-retired and able to please oneself!
zeb
We have to go otherwise would consider delaying the trip. We'll be doing motorway Poitiers to Paris and then up to Boulogne - are the motorways gritted/salted etc?

This is our experience. The worst thing for us has been that there are no cats' eyes on some roads and with snow, even though a lot of it has been cleared, it is difficult to know where the lane demarcations are. What they do do here which helps others is that when accidents occur instead of doing the English thing and closing the road down for ages, they push the vehicles involved in to the verge and everyone is let through! We saw this happen overnight near Rennes last winter and the poor sods whose cars had crashed, had them pushed off and into a ditch!
