Swissbarry
Friends from England are visiting us, and wonder if, on their way back to the UK, they will be able to park their car and caravan overnight at Calais dockside. Can anyone with recent experience of this advise, please?
Briank
Haven't used the facility for about 15 months but you used to be able to park there. They also have a cafe and toilets and even showers that you can use. The only downside is that it is very noisy all night. It is free and signposted from the roundabout going into the docks.Jan & Brian (86)

Alcazar
I'd say VERY VERY noisyWe eventually stopped using that facility after a few unsettled nights, and one memorable occasion when we parked up and got up the next morning to find that we were "parked in", and couldn't move until our neighbours got up and also moved. There is a decent campsite at Guines, and, I believe, one in Calais near the harbour east end?We also used to park up and sleep on aires, usually the first one after it became pay motorway, and with plenty of people on it, but that's not in favour now...............and can be noisy due to lorries anyway. There is another EXCELLENT campsite at Wacquinghen, just off the A16 between Calais and Boulogne, very quiet, good facilities, if they are going/coming the A16 way.Alcazar
