Ron Avery
Beware if booking a van on Hoverspeed, although their website shows only a length restriction there is also a height restriction of 3 m, I turned up Wednesday evening with a 3.10m van at Calais to be told it was "too eye". I pointed out politely and in French that the website showed no height restriction and that the booking had been accepted, the response, "we are too busy to try to get you on, you will ave to find a ferry". Don't remember the word sorry in English or French being heard from the Frenchman or his smug English woman assistant. All I got was a card to send to Dover for a refund Now Sea France were the exact opposite, they went out of their way to get me on the next ferry, could not have been more helpful, they put me through the car lane instead of the HGV lane to keep the price down with no problem at all and 15 minutes later on the way to the UK. Hoverspeed, NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN.
