Hoddy
I was booked on the Saturday afternoon flight from Bergerac to Birmingham. The plane arrived late from Birmingham. Once on board the pilot told us that due to the extreme heat at Bergerac ( it was 37c) it wasn't possible for him to take on a full load of fuel because of the short runway at Bergerac and that we would need to land at Bordeaux in order to refuel fully.Once we were on the ground at Bordeaux we were told that the plane had a technical fault in a generator and that we would have to wait at Bordeaux for a replacement to arrive from Birmingham. This was done and we eventually got to Birmingham at around midnight UK time. I was left thinking that we had been misled. Am I being parnoid ?Hoddy
Baz
It is quite true that planes in hot weather conditions require far longer distances to take off and that to compensate the weight load needs to be reduced on short runways ie reduced fuel loads. If extreme weather was a regular occurance in Bergerac then timetables would have to be altered to early morning or evening flights only.Baz
