Jaillemouche
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get on the TGV @ Charles Ge Gaul and travel direct to Poitiers, or do you have to get into Paris first. If it is possible, is it straightforward? All help/suggestions gratefully received.
Tourangelle
If it helps, you can go at least from CDG to St-Pierre-des-Corps (Tours)on a direct train. At St-Pierre-des-Corps you would be able to get a connecting train to Poitiers. It is more straightforward than going through Paris, but there are not so many trains. Will
If you go to www.voyages-sncf.com you can enter the beginning and end of your journey, the approximate times, and it will tell you what trains are available. There is an English language option if you prefer. It is possible to book your tickets on the same site, but it is horribly unreliable (though that's another story altogether). Alcazar
IIRC, Poitiers IS on the TGV network, although it doesn't yet have a TGV "Ligne a Grande Vitesse."I'm almost certain that a FEW trains a day go from Lille Europe right through to Bordeaux, or further, and will serve Poitiers? Of those, some will stop at CDG.I'd recommend the SNCF site, or a phone call to Rail Europe, who are EXCELLENT.......they'll find trains, connections, cheapest fares, and book it all over the phone.I have some Thomas Cook timetables that list trains you could use, but sadly, out of date, so I won't quote you any.Alcazar
Clarkkent
The best railway timetable site that I know of is:http://www.db.de/site/bahn/en/start.htmlAssuming that TGV schedules have a fixed daily pattern, there are through trains between CDG and Poitiers at:08.4513.4415.42There may be others later in the day - I did not check.
