Ron Avery
I am surprised nobody else has picked this up, but it was announced yesterday that the French government has approved plans for a new tax on airline tickets to boost aid for the world's poor. The tax, which needs parliamentary approval, would range from 1€ to 40€ depending on the distance travelled and type of ticket. On French news yesterday that seemed to be saying that flights within France were exempt, now hat is a surprise but on 1st class tickets out of France it could be as much as 40€ We await CEO O'Leary's reaction
