La Guerriere
Hello, hello, what was the Transmanche ferry Dieppe doing chugging into Portsmouth last week ? Are they trying out a new route ?Jim(50 and Oxfordshire)
Will
It may have been on a special charter - there are companies that charter ferries for cruises, Portsmouth to Rouen is one populsr event that often happens around this time of year. Or it may have been in for maintenance. The dockyard (FSL) does quite a bit of commercial drydocking/refit work on ferries, especially high speed catamarans. Or maybe it's on its way to a new owner. Transmanche's new ships, being built in Spain, are scheduled for delivery in 2006.
La Guerriere
I suspect it might have been a "special" as ROUEN was up on the screen at one of the check-in hutches at Portsmouth Ferryport. Rouen must be quite a nice (if rather long) run as you get the benefit of toddling up the river, under the big bridges (both old and new), and seeing the scenery.
