Anton Redman
I have never found any service which offer one way van hire in France to UK or from UK to France. . The best you are likly to mind is somebody returning to UK who will do a deal to take your stuff out
Eslier
Give BRITSERV a try. They do low cost light removals between the UK and France and the other direction too - based in Brittany but cover the whole of France - one man and a van so no costly overheads.. It may work out cheaper than hiring a van.
Thumper
How often are you going to do the trip? We looked into hiring from the UK and it was going to be about £700 for a ten-day rental. Knowing we had to do about four or five trips, we looked into buying second hand. In the end we picked up a solid old Transit on eBay for £500 (!!), had it serviced and checked (adding another £350, including new cambelt), and have now done four round-trips . . . and still have a van to sell on at the end. Don't buy a white one, though. It definitely does something strange to one's driving mentality - you start pulling out into traffic, forgetting to signal, bomb too fast on the motorway, and develop a generally unhealthy attitude to other road-users. We went for blue.[:)]
supercat
I used Hertz for a one way car rental. I don't know if they do vans aswell though. You hire a car in the UK, then you swap it for a similar French car in Calais, and leave it at your destination. A bit of a kafuffle repacking it all, but quite a good idea!
