Dick Smith
I see that the strikers have announced they are doing it all again on April 4th. The day I arrive in France (BF to Ouistreham). Question is - will my ferry be disrupted? Were there problems with ferries docking during this week's strike??

chirpy
Just a thought perhaps if you stayed at home they would'nt strike. Sorry you left yourself wide open for that.If you stay it is the anniversary of first Aldermaston March of CND in 1958.MAYBE THAT IS WHY THEY ARE STRIKING-NO OFFENSE OLD BOY.[:)][8-|][;-)]
Dick Smith
No offence taken, remember Aldermaston clearly. As no replies I shall blunder blindly on assuming all is well.
Will
DickAs nobody else seems to want to answer your question, the official Brittany Ferries line is that they cannot guarantee that ferries will run on strike days but as far as the company is aware a normal service will be operating. Other operators are saying the same. There will almost certainly not be a problem with ferries leaving England, but ferries scheduled to leave France on the strike days may get delayed or cancelled due to industrial action (which presumably will affect return trips from England by ferriesstarting out that day in France, or on the following day).Judie was due to travel to England with BF on Tuesday morning this week, but she managed, with a bit of insistence, to get her crossing moved to Monday afternoon, with no amendment fee or price adjustment, despite the change taking it out of the 5-day bracket, and a free cabin as well. BF comes in for a lot of stick on these forums so deserves credit for that.

Val_2
Students from universities in Brest blocked the main runway at Brest airport today and then surrounded the aircraft.
