Those big horrible letter stickers on the back of your car

The ones with a big F or GB or whatever country your car is from. Are they really necessary? Travelling to England for a day, is it a legal requirement that my car has a hideous F on the back of it if I want to drive in England? It's got a little F on the rego plate at the mo, surely that's enough isn't it? Any info greatfully appreciated.

If you have the little F on the number plate than that is all which is required.

If your number plate incorporates the country letter as part of it's construction then no other identification is required. If you don't have this then a seperate sticker is required.

Thanks guys. I had a GB sticker on my car about 13 years ago. When I took it off, it peeled all the paint off and I was not very happy. There's no way I'd want to put one on my new baby.

You can buy GB oval signs which are printed on that flexible magnetic rubber stuff, like some fridge magnets. Ours stays in place up to 130 kph easily - yet leaves no marks when removed. Of course, it doesn't work with plastic bumpers / body panels

I just left it stuck to the bumper for 10 years! I figured that when I was in the car I couldn't see it and I didn't care whether other people liked the look of it or not![:)]

I'm not worried about other people liking it or not, I just didn't want a big black F on a white background on my little convertible. It's got an F on the rego plate and if that's good enough that's great.
