robert isaac
Ourt French neighbours tell us that there will soon be direct flights from UK to Angouleme. Does anyone know anything about this? If it is true, which airline is planning to open this route, when, and from which UK airport?
robert isaac
PS there seem to be posts on this subject last year, suggested that it may be Ryanair and starting this autumn.
Rayring
There was an article in Charente Libre about this last summer. Ryan Air was hoping to start flights this autumn, the problem I seem to remember was the runway needs extending before Ryan Air could use the airport and no one knew where the money to do this was going to come from.I assume they would fly from Stanstead. saddie
According to my sister who lives close to Brie which is the airport all work has stopped on the extension. Probably run out of funds.
Rayring
Update on flights to Angoulême in today's Charente Libre. The local chambers of commerce have agreed that Brie-Champniers airport should be the base for a budget airline flying to London and will be renamed Angoulême-Cognac airport. The runway will need to be extended by 50 metres at cost of €1.2 million. No news on when flights might start.
