Unknown
Not sure how true this is, but a friend of a friend works for BA and knows my OH uses the Gatwick to Nantes route. It would appear BA will not be offering this service from November onwards this year.I have tried to book flights on line for this period and it comes up with ' this service is not available'. This is a real pain in the wotsit, does anyone else know if this is the case and if there is likely to be another carrier to take it over?Airfrance stopped this direct route too earlier this year, I'm surprised as I saw on a programme that Nantes was the fastest growing city in France. Cassis
Is that the one operated by GB Airways for BA?
Loiseau
There is Ryanair, from London Stansted to Nantes - daily I think. I use it quite a lot (probably contributing to lack of GB Airways/BA customers [:(] ) .AngelaEDITJust thought perhaps I would use Air Miles and book GB/BA flights for next trip, and found that the times have been changed to much earlier in the day. I don't fancy my chances of finding a 5am train to Gatwick, or of kind friends offering to come and meet me in spite of Nantes rush-hour traffic. The Riff-Raff Element
If it is the case that BA are halting this service it would be a realshame. Shifting the time of this service was a mistake (or perhaps theywanted an excuse...). It was frequently more competitive than theRyanair alternative, though persauding people to even check the priceswas an uphill struggle. Still, it doesn't look lilke Ryanair will havea monopoly in Nantes - Air Arran are shifting their Manchester flightfrom Angers to Nantes and it looks as though both Fly BE and Easyjetare keen to expand their Altantic coast operations. Cassis
Don't suppose they are switching to Le Mans instead? [Www]

Air Arran are advertising via a hoarding at Nantes Airport that they are starting Manchester flightsThe comments about Fly BE and Easyjet are speculative, but both areoperators on Atlantic Coast routes, both are keen to continue expansion(have a look at some of their press releases and you'll probably seewhat I mean) and Nantes is a peach of a destination (6th largest cityin France, covenient for Vendée, Brittany and the Western Loire...)
